Visit to Kenya

2018 May 11 - 25

In May 2018 we visited Kenya to help out with some painting in a home for street children, "run" a half marathon and go on a safari.

There are are so many memories, and I've tried to illustrate a few from the photos and video.

Sarah was amazing with the children, playing games with them and talking to them and generally being every bit as cheeky as the boys were.

We "ran" the marathon on our wedding anniversary, and I spent most of my time trying desperately to catch up with her or looking at her on the horizon.  I finally caught up as we started going downhill again - she moved so quickly (hence my comment in the video).

We met Mama Jack who continued to take Sarah out for lovely walks in Kelsey park in the years to come and Wendy Lady who has been such a support these past couple of years.  But Sarah made friends with everyone!

Sarah loved the kids, loved the animals, loved the sun and was loved by everyone she met.

We also discovered Sarah had the "eagle eye", spotting nearly every animal that the safari park had to offer!  Only the snake escaped her gaze (and she was fairly sure she'd spotted one, we just weren't quick enough with the cameras).

Safari is Swahili for trip or journey. And Sarah and I certainly had a journey.
