Smarsh was an incredibly fun and godly woman, a friend I looked up to and will never forget. My fondest memories with Sarah are of laughing and singing at camp, BCDO or Friday Club. She played an important role in discipling me from a young age by encouraging me to worship by playing my guitar at camp, leading Bible studies and telling me how great God’s love is; for this I will always be thankful. I loved her unfailing enthusiasm to pick up her guitar each day at girls’ week SEYC and get us all singing “Get up out of bed…. And say thank you it’s a brand-new day!” It inspired me to wake up my university friends by bringing my guitar into their rooms and singing this same song…! What a huge and devastating loss. Smarsh is and will be so missed and dearly loved. It is a comfort knowing she has joined the heavenly, eternal and most joyful party of all singing praise to God in whom she placed her trust. I look to singing and laughing together again in the presence of our Lord. Poem - Tomorrow by Ora Rowan Caught up away from sin and woe, Earth’s mingled joys and sorrows; Caught up to glory with the Lord, This is the saint’s tomorrow. Caught up from suffering, discord, strife, Where partings shall be never; Where love shall flow unmixed at last, “Together” there forever. “Together!” How it soothes the pain Of bitter feelings here, When hearts divide, that only there Can e’er again come near. Faces we love but see not now Are pictured in that word; Yea, pictured stainless in the light, “Together” with the Lord. With Him and like Him gathered all, Ended our sin and sorrow, Awaking satisfied at Home, This is our bright “tomorrow.”
