Barry 8th April 2020

You called me entirely out of the blue when I needed a 'true friend'. We barely knew each other at that stage, but you were just so kind and encouraging. Not pushy, not judgemental. Invited me to things I never would normally go to, and I couldn't help but want to spend time with you. You were so much fun to be with. Your friendship completely transformed my life, and it's not an exaggeration to say that almost everything I have and cherish can be traced back to you and your goodness to me. Thank you. I hope you know how grateful I am. I'm so glad that you phoned, and that we had the chance to get to know each other . Thinking back, I can't believe you came to the pub and watched boring England qualifiers with me when no one else would! We laughed with each other, and quite often at each other. But I was happy to be the Rodney to your Del Boy ;-) We teased each other about things like our different taste in music and film - I remember going to see a Jim Carey film together; I loved it and you thought it was awful. We spent ages discussing it, and I would have agreed with you but then we'd have both been wrong! In many ways I came to think of you more like a sister than a friend. But the best memories I have of you are seeing you with Ben, and your Bezza's, and when you were leading the Praise and fun at SEYC because they were the times when you were so very happy. That's how I will remember you until we meet again. Love you and miss you dearly x
